The Urban Land Institute
The Urban Land Institute’s mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. ULI is an independent, nonprofit education and research institute supported by its members and neither lobbies nor acts as an advocate for any one single industry.
ULI Columbus
ULI Columbus exists to create vibrant sustainable communities where people seek to live. This raison d’être is underpinned by several core values that define the way we do things and they are incorporated as a matter of course in all of our efforts:
Openness and Collaboration – bringing together a wide group; focusing on inclusivity across disciplines and demographics; fostering an open exchange of ideas and best practices.
Developing ‘Agents for Improvement’ – educating people on emerging land-use trends; a ‘give and get’ aspect to involvement with the organization; a focus on education beyond real estate fundamentals or Continuing Education credits; and recognized authority as a think-tank for developing a better community.
Effectiveness – a blend of idealism and pragmatism in approaching topics and problems; practical experience incorporated into programming; creating a better world; providing content that is forward-thinking and can have an impact; having an impact on our community through our programs and outreach efforts.
Columbus 2050
